The third round featured Morgan Roe, Jamie Ashley, William Mumford and Charlie Dunnett - but not the expected star guest appearance by Sophie Young's cousin Logan. William Karsten also returned after a weekend watching Spamalot, whereas Harry Frost was away due to his beloved dad Doug - who took him sailing. We played indians with all the balls as the fire, we ran with the balls from the cold island to the warm island and back, and we shot some balls at Peter (William) and Matt (Charlie) who proved why they should not attempt to replace England's current goalkeepers. William Mumford's mother Megan Quinlan proved that she is an able dribbler as soon as her husband John left, John Roe looked increasingly sure on the ball as he passed to Rob Ashley, and Jane (William) brought some biscuits to break things up half-way through.

The second round players were Charlie Dunnett, Parker Delessio, Caitlin Delessio, Ryan Delessio, Joe Towner, James Radford, Emma Radford, Harry Sherman, William Mumford, Harry Frost and Iris Patten. Harry's father Doug pulled on his trainers to be the Head Coach for the day, and William Mumford's mother Megan was a rocket at supporting Doug's considerable and most heroic efforts.

The first players were Jamie Ashley, Sophie Young, Harry Frost, Iris Patten, Morgan Roe, Eashen Vickers, Caylan Vickers, William Watson, Marcus Watson, Max Griffin Sadler, Harvey Griffin Sadler, William Mumford, Joe Towner, and William Karsten.

The goal is to create a team of perhaps 15 friends who enjoy playing football together every week - because it's fun. The players will mainly be from Upton House School because that's where William goes to school, but this is not exclusively for Upton House players. In due course, we hope this team will continue playing when most players are at future other schools.

The first session involved every player having a ball and having races across the hall. We warmed up by holding on to the ball and running across the hall. Once we had some more confidence and were getting going, we switched to running across the hall with the ball at our feet.

We then created a warm island and one end of the hall, and a cold island at the other end. We started by running across to the other island with the ball at our feet. We then started planting palm trees on the opposite island, and running over to get the palm tree.

The parents then joined in. They started also running across to get palm trees that had been planted by the players. It was somewhat confusing for the parents at first, because the palm trees looked conspicuously like the little footballs the players had been using. But they adapted and understood in due course.

Rob (Jamie Ashley's father) then became an ice berg that everyone had to run around with a ball at their feet.

Doug (Harry Frost's father) and Chris (Iris Patten's father) then led an Indian dribble around the edges of the hall, each player with a ball at their feet.

We then took a break. The players were running a bit low on energy. It was high-tempo football training.

And to round things off - we did the whole circuit again, with only one or two laps per training item.

So far, we have found that:
