On your first visit

I will have a preliminary talk with you to determine your present and past health and lifestyle, this may take up to 30 minutes.

Typical Session/FAQ #01You will then sit or recline on an extremely comfortable couch. Your feet will be given a relaxing and luxurious wipe with lavendar oil scented water.

I will start with a relaxing foot massage to prepare the feet for reflexology treatment. The reflexes are then worked on using a firm but comfortable pressure. A duvet or blanket will be provided in case you start to feel a little cold.

You have the choice of listening to some relaxing soothing music. The application and the effect of the therapy are unique to each person.

A treatment session usually lasts for about 1 hour. Don't worry if you fall asleep - it happens very frequently. At the end of the treatment I will wake you slowly and give you a refreshing glass of mineral water.

For treating a specific condition, a course of treatments is recommended. How many treatments clients come to me is dependent on the client and their reason for having reflexology. Ultimately, most clients come back on a monthly basis as they feel it maintains a consistent level of health and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a treatment session last?
The reflexology treatment will last 1 hour. The first session will be 15 minutes longer to complete the discussion about past and present health and lifestyle.

I am very ticklish will reflexology feel tickly on my feet?
No, I have not met a client yet who finds reflexology ticklish this is because the way in which a professional reflexologist holds and works the feet is with a firm pressure which is not ticklish.

I am in good health, will I benefit from reflexology?
From my exerience, I believe people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to maintain good health and well-being.

How many treatment sessions should I have?
This is variable depending on the reason for the client having reflexology. If there is a chronic health condition the sessions may continue on a weekly basis over a long period of time. However, other clients may benefit from around 6 sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis and then maintenance sessions every few months to maintain good health.
This is something which would be talked about at the initial session.

After my reflexology session what should I do?
Always drink plenty of water or herbal teas to keep hydration levels high, this helps to eliminate toxins which have been mobilised during the reflexology treatment. If you feel tired, try to have a quiet time and ideally nap if you feel like it.

How will I feel after a treatment?
Following a treatment you may calm, relaxed and yet invigorated. The most frequent effects reported by my clients are that they feel stress and tension are relieved and their blood circulation may be improved, you may feel very clear headed and revitalised.

I have heard I may have headaches after the treatment?
Some clients may experience fatigue, headache, changes in bowel movements, frequent urination, excessive perspiration, breakout of spots, emotional low. Your body is starting to work more effectively releasing accumulated toxins into the circulation. These toxins are then eliminated via the skin, bladder, lungs and bowels. This happens for some, but not all clients and is sometimes called the Healing Crisis as the body is starting to heal itself.

What should I wear?
Clothes you feel relaxed and comfortable wearing, shoes and socks which are easy to remove.
